Reuben Clements. He is the co-founder and Vice-President of ‘Rimba’ – which means ‘jungle’ in Malay. ‘Rimba’ is a non-profit research group focused on conducting conservation science. Its members use the results of their studies to engage constructively with policymakers and natural resource managers to help improve the protection and management of Peninsular Malaysia’s biodiversity. ‘Rimba’ was first established in 2010 as a non-profit research enterprise (002085549-T). As of 30 December 2016, it officially became an NGO under the Registry of Societies Malaysia (ROS: PPM-017-14-30122016).
Reuben has been working as Principal Investigator of Harimau Selamanya. He is also an Associate Professor at Sunway University and a Field Conservation Associate at Woodland Park Zoo and Panthera. He graduated from Singapore National University with an MSC in Biology. Furthermore he completed his PhD in Conservation Science at James Cook University. Reuben previously served as Species Manager at the WWF Malaysia.
‘Have Hope‘ is an unconventional umbrella for meaningful conversations between inspired people. You don’t need to be a doctor or scientist or social entrepreneur to be the change you want. Have Hope brings together ordinary like-minded people that are dedicating a couple of hours a week to serve their neighbourhood. These people want to see positive changes in the world.
